Meeting UK & European standards.
A Tachograph chart is a wax-coated, circular paper disc used in analogue tachographs to automatically record a vehicle’s speed, distance, and driving time over a 24-hour period.
Drivers must manually enter their name, start/end location, date, and odometer readings.
These charts are legal documents for monitoring compliance with drivers’ hours regulations.
Key Aspects of Tachograph Charts:
Recording Details:
The stylus records speed (km/h), distance, and driving time, which can be analysed for efficiency and compliance.
Required Manual Entries:
Before driving, the driver must record their name, start location, start date, registration number, and opening odometer reading. At the end of the day, the finishing location, date, and closing odometer reading must be added.
Compliance and Retention:
Drivers must carry charts for the current day and the preceding 28 calendar days for inspection.
Usage and Handling
If a vehicle is changed during a shift, the new vehicle details must be noted. Charts must be returned to the employer, often within 42 days.
